- Client: Main Contractor
- Number of Pumping Stations: 1
- Project Location: London
- System Type: Combined Pumping Station
This month, Paradigm completed a complex surface water pumping station and rising main for an end of terrace house in North London.
The main contractor at a project in Muswell Hill, a suburb of North London, required the sewage pump station to lift sewage from the lower floors of a multi storey apartment block as well as the surface water from a small light well. Our engineers designed a system which could achieve this ensuing that there was no any risk to the operation of the system in the future for the occupying residents or the house owner.
The package included a pump chamber 1,500mm in diameter and an overall 2,400mm in depth lifting the sewage to a manhole by means of two powerful submersible pumps. Each pump had a solids capacity of 80mm to ensure minimal blockages in the system and could only be 230V posing a separate challenge. Once a suitable selection had been sourced to suit the duty the system was installed and commissioned on a temporary power source to help keep the contractor focused on the rest of the project forward.
To assist the contractor further Paradigm were tasked to supply, install and hydrostatically test the rising main to 10bar to ensure a completely sound system complete with all the certificates ready for handover to the final client.
